The Biostasis Research Institute is the brainchild of Dr. Sebastian Giwa and Jedediah Lewis. Seb and Jedd co-founded the Organ Preservation Alliance (https://www.organpreservationalliance.org/), with Jedd succeeding Seb as CEO in 2016.

Seb has also been founder and CEO of two successful biobanking companies, Sylvatica Biotech and Ossium Health. He previously worked at Bain and hedge fund Bridgewater after leading the National Youth Council of Sweden. Seb holds a PhD in Economics conducted at SSE and Harvard and an MBA from Harvard where he graduated with High Distinction.

Jedd is the founder and CEO of Humanity Bio, which develops new research tools to support drug development. He holds a J.D. from Harvard. Jedd previously had a budding career as a research scientist, but he left his biosciences PhD program at Stanford after meeting Seb and the rest of the team and finding his new lifelong mission: maximizing the lifesaving impact of every organ and tissue donor’s gift.
